Feature Requests

Dropping a pin on a scene will record latitude and longitude for that specific scene and perhaps a color selection and label option ( “Chase scene,” “sunset walk and talk”). All your pinned scenes would appear on a map, indicated with a scene number in the pin. This would help with remembering options during preliminary scouts, and with logistic planning during production. I do a similar thing currently with photos, but this would automatically associate script pages with a physical location.

The Problem: The current Breakdown Summary PDF report is always sorted strictly by script scene number (chronologically). However, on set, our production operates entirely based on the Shooting Schedule (e.g., shooting scene 42, then scene 8, then scene 3). When our department heads need their specific breakdown list (props, costumes, etc.) for the day, they receive the chronologically sorted PDF and have to manually look up scenes in the correct shooting order, which is time-consuming and prone to errors. The Feature Request: We would greatly benefit from an option to export the high-quality Breakdown Summary PDF with the scenes sorted according to an external shooting order. A possible solution could be: A new setting during the PDF export process. The ability to import a simple CSV or TXT file that contains nothing but the scenes listed in the desired shooting order (e.g., a column with 42, 8, 3, 15...). Scriptation would then use this external list to rearrange the scene-by-scene pages/sections of the Breakdown Summary PDF before finalizing the document. This feature would bridge the gap between script analysis and logistical execution on set, making Scriptation even more indispensable for production offices and crew. Thank you for considering this request. I believe it is a crucial tool for professional film workflows.

ability to pull images from a file folder and not just the photo library or camera

I’d love the ability to easily bulk add photos so I don’t need to do it one by one or do the long way through the photo app. This would mean I’d save a lot of time adding screen grabs & conti photos to a scene while shooting

It would be a very useful addition to be able to record your own reading of the other character lines.

I know they used to have one. Would love a Windows app as I only have an iPhone! If "Shot Designer" can have an app that works on both iPhone and Windows, so can Scriptation! Upvote if you're a Windows user :P

It would be great to be able to link tags together as the same element that shows up in various places in the script. Then in the report it would show all of the various scenes that element shows up in. (sort of the way that the cast section of the report shows all scenes of that cast member). It would also be groovy if within the script, i could somehow see the linked elements. Maybe right clicking on an element item would provided the list of all of the scenes that contain that linked tag. And by clicking on it, it would jump to that part of the script.

The auto generated title that comes up for a Scriptation Compare document starts out with the same title as the source script. But when we view these in most lists it only shows the beginning of a long file name, so at a glance we cant tell which document is which. I use Scriptation Compare alot and I want the auto generated title to start with COMPARE or SC or something different at the FRONT of the file name vs the end.

Many times productions shoot with multiple units and script supervisors simultaneously, and in some instances multiple script supervisors on the same production are lining the same scene. To ensure that slates aren't accidentally repeated, it is crucial that script supervisors on the same production are able to combine and reconcile their slates/tramlines when sharing and importing lining layers for partially lined scenes. As of right now, if a script supervisor has already partially lined a scene in their script, and they try to import a shared lining layer that has partial lining in that same scene, they are met with a vague error dialog that the layer cannot be imported. This applies to the following cases: When the slates are the exact same on the script's current lining layer and the imported layer. Scriptation currently doesn't check for exact duplicates to eliminate redundancies. Even when the slates and/or their numbering are different. Scriptation currently isn't able to combine all the slates within a script's current lining layer and the imported layer to create a single merged lining for that scene. Please address this bug as soon as possible, thank you!!!
